What follows are words that attempt to describe the mystical. Do not gloss over this prose. These words share the principles behind our experience of life. Like the light before it hits a prism, it might not look like anything at first glance. Yet, it hides a vibrant rainbow of depth.
Read this post with an open and relaxed mind.
Think of these words like poetry. Chew on each image. Don’t pay attention to the words, but read beyond them for the rich meaning underneath.
Enlightened Nature
I used think of enlightenment as a far distant impossibility The barrier between wisdom and myself a galaxy's distance wide I now realize enlightenment is closer than I can even imagine the barrier between paper thin In reality, this obstruction is not even so thick because it is made of nothing but my own thought, and this supposedly unreachable enlightenment is here now because it has always been We all have access to the pure enlightened nature of who we really are We also have access to fearful thoughts we unconsciously use to scare ourselves Judgment, insecurity, and self consciousness covers over our enlightened presence like ice freezing over a flowing river We can never feel the soft, nourishing water of being if we never break through the frozen hardness of mental ice Like water captured by a dam we all contain an infinite reservoir of loving presence waiting to burst forth, but we innocently block this flowing experience with the power of intellectual thought from our personal minds It takes continual energy to maintain this dam Why else do you think you are so psychologically exhausted? Allow it to crumble and dissolve The barrier falls easily when it is no longer maintained Constructed not of brick and stone, it is made from a transitory fabric: thought Let it drop like a curtain cut from the rafters it reveals the magnificent stage With nothing in its way, your enlightened nature bursts through, filling your entire experience with wisdom, understanding, and love In reality, this nature had never left because it is ever present, not discovered but revealed Much like the canvas of a painting, accepting, understanding, passive, it allows any color of paint to overlay its purity Connected and interwoven threaded with love, it is the background on which the messiness of life splatters It is the page on which ink spills as you fabricate the stories of your individual reality Beyond the thoughts that whirl in the mind like fake snow inside a shaken snow globe, your enlightened nature is clearest when the intellect settles and rests Re-examine your life for peppered instances of this enlightened consciousness breaking through These are quiet and reflective moments, joyful, beautiful, peaceful, when you naturally release the strain of holding on to worry. The weight of the mind is set down, if only for a time Relaxing into this presence feels like a gentle dip into a steaming hot bath with a soothing sigh of relief You are gifted continuous opportunity to let dissolve your current thinking and feel into the shared space of the infinite This possibility exists within every single moment of your life Not found in working on yourself, or within doing because releasing is a non action All of this isn’t just a pleasant idea meant to sound nice if only it were true, and it isn’t only true for a select few There is enlightened nature within every single person, You are not the exception even if you, like I once did, think it impossible A flowing fountain, it springs forth. The continuous outpouring feeds itself These words remind you of what you already know inside Like the peal of a distant bell, they ring true from a quiet space inside your consciousness Experiencing your own enlightened presence is a different way of using your mind your have forgotten you knew Do not seek to transcend above your own experience of being human When connected to your spiritual dimension, you savor even more the zest of ordinary, everyday life No clarity is found attempting to ascend above your natural feeling because emotions guide you home After the intellect gives up trying to figure this all out, wisdom is found in feeling Enlightened nature and mental health Two phrases that name the same energy The understanding no less profound within its own simplicity They are a single realization away Seek outside the intellectual mind for your wellbeing Look in a new direction toward the unknown and the infinite space within Look toward enlightened nature within
